Role Description

Experienced Contracts Advisor required for an ongoing contract/agency role, working on behalf of our client, a leading oil, gas & energy engineering contractor, based at their UK head office in London. 

The role encompasses deployment of Contract Management activities for our client's London hub, covering a new carbon capture pipeline project based in the North Sea. Proven experience negotiating and executing offshore construction contracts is essential for this role. 

Job Specification:

• Review and qualify or draft different types of contracts, including but not limited to: engineering, procurement, Construction,(EPC) transportation and installation, service contracts, as well as associated confidentiality agreements, non-disclosure and restrictive use agreements; partnership/consortium/joint venture/alliance agreements, subcontract agreements;

• Prepare Contract Summaries on tender/project specific basis;

• Advise Company and Corporate Management on the main contractual risks, identifying and proposing contractual mitigation actions;

• Negotiate the contractual instruments with the counterparties in the best interests of the Company and in accordance with Company risk policies;

• Support the Project Management teams in the determination of claims and contract management strategies , in the preparation and evaluation of variation order requests, and in the drafting of key project correspondence towards clients, major subcontractors and/or other interfacing third parties ;

• Support the Procurement function in the review of subcontracts and purchase orders;

• Have knowledge of the industry standard contracts (FIDIC, LOGIC, BIMCO, IOCs’ etc.)

Essential Skills

• Knowledge and experience of English Law;

• Proven experience of reviewing and advising on tendering contracts and of administrating project contracts and effective negotiation skills are essential;

• Proven experience negotiating and executing offshore construction contracts

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, listening and influencing;

• International mobility both for short missions and potentially for long-term assignments.
