Role Description
Pipe Quality Inspector urgently required for short term contract role (outside of IR35) based in Teesside.
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Pipe Quality Inspector to join a major Carbon Capture project based in Teesside.
Reporting to the Project Logistics Manager, you'll play a key role in ensuring pipe materials are received, inspected, handled and stored safely, helping to maintain the highest quality standards throughout the project.
Working closely with internal teams, clients and subcontractors, you'll identify and report any damage or discrepancies, coordinate corrective actions, and ensure materials are fully compliant before installation.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out targeted inspections of pipe materials and equipment before installation, ensuring compliance with client specifications and project quality requirements.
* Perform visual inspections of all incoming materials to confirm they are in good condition and accompanied by the correct documentation for safe handling and storage.
* Identify, report and coordinate the resolution of any damage or discrepancies with the Shipping & Customs team and the Expediter, while notifying the Insurance Department where required.
* Oversee and maintain accurate records of services provided by local subcontractors in line with contractual agreements, supporting periodic invoicing.
* Raise or request Service Entries and Work Orders to formalise completed services and facilitate payment processes.
* Liaise with Supply Chain teams and clients to coordinate and optimise the collection and transportation of goods in line with project schedules and requirements.
What We're Looking For
Experience:
* A minimum of 6 years' experience as a Pipe Inspector, Pipe Quality Inspector or in a similar quality inspection role within a construction, engineering or industrial project environment.
Technical Skills:
* Proven experience in pipe coating inspection.
* Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying quality issues.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
Contract details:
* Contractor opportunity until October 2026.
* Full-time position.
