Role Description
Lead Control Systems Engineer required for a long term contract role to work on behalf of our client, a major international engineering and construction contractor, on a nitrogen fertilizer project.
Candidates should have experience in the FEED / detailed engineering phase of projects, particularly in handling packages, and will assist in designing process control systems based on DCS,ESD & FGS systems.
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in Middle Eastern projects, Chemical facilities (e.g. Ammonia) and familiarity with related work processes.
Duties to include:
-Contribute to the development of I&C design deliverables, including P&IDs, Instrument List, Instrument Specifications, and Instrument Data Sheets.
-Experience of preparing Package specification, datasheets.
-Assist in the design of process control systems based on DCS, PLC, and SCADA.
-Collaborate with client counterparts and vendors to interface control systems and packages.
-Support risk assessments such as Safety Integrity Level (SIL), Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA), and Hazard and Operability Study (HAZOP).
-Prepare technical requisitions and conduct bid evaluations.
-Perform assigned automation-related job functions, including the creation of I/O lists, Instrumentation lists, and the specification of instrumentation and control elements.
-Interface with Electrical systems and MCC.
-Experience in Brownfield onshore projects.
-Experience working with multiple centres.
Job Details:
Contract role - duration c. 8 months
Rate: £55 p/h
Working hours: 37.5-40 hrs per week
Location: Surrey (1-2 days remote working may be possible by arrangement)
Start date: ASAP
