Role Description
Senior Naval Architect – FPSO Hull Structures
Location: Surrey (Hybrid – 3 days office / 2 remote)
Start: ASAP
Duration: 6 months
Rate: £60/hr Ltd (Outside IR35)
We are seeking an experienced Senior Naval Architect to support the analysis and design of FPSO hull structures for offshore projects in challenging environments, working on behalf of our client, a global design and engineering contractor based in Surrey.
Working under general supervision, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality structural assessments and designs, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform global and local structural analysis of FPSO hulls
- Develop and assess structural designs, including:
- Hull scantlings
- Bulkheads
- Living quarters
- Topside module support stools
- Conduct stochastic fatigue analysis in line with DNV standards (desirable)
- Ensure designs comply with DNV rules and NORSOK standards
- Deliver accurate engineering outputs within project timelines
Requirements
Minimum 12 years’ experience in offshore structural / naval architecture engineering
Strong background in FPSO hull design, particularly in harsh environments
Proven experience with:
- SESAM Genie (essential)
- Nauticus Hull (essential)
Solid understanding of:
- DNV Rules & Standards
- NORSOK codes
Experience with fatigue analysis methods is advantageous
Previous Equinor project experience is a plus
