Role Description

We are now recruiting for a Lead Planner to work on behalf of our client, a global engineering and installation contractor based in London.

The Role:

  • Establish and manage effectively a planning and progress control system to support the Project Manager’s decision making process and allow them to complete the project according to internal baselines and in compliance with the contractual dates and requirements
  • Ensure any deviation from the plan is promptly spotted and analysed, final time impact is estimated, and the effect of corrective actions taken is monitored
  • Create a schedule awareness atmosphere among all project participants

Responsibilities for the Role:

  • Ensure the development of the Project Schedule according to contractual requirements and internal standards, verifying its feasibility and highlighting any criticalities
  • Interface and coordinate with Discipline Leaders, Supervisors, and Managers to build up activities, assign milestones, identify project constraints and devise the activity network
  • Prepare all the reference baseline documents, and ensure that the Project’s planning and scheduling requirements are properly and clearly communicated to those functionally responsible for executing the work
  • Issue all relevant reporting in a timely manner
  • Perform critical path analysis 
  • Issue the Planning & Scheduling Procedure and the Progress Measurement Procedure
  • Perform scheduled risk analysis
  • Ensure the effectiveness of the Planning and Progress Control System, monitoring the progress measurement system and ensuring the proper information flow, progress status and completion forecast are assessed and reported throughout the Project Lifecycle (EPCI)
  • Update all Project Schedules, collecting actual data, evaluating forecast dates and monitoring any progress and productivity deviation compared with the baseline schedule, including the corrective actions taken by the PM
  • Create and maintain the 90 days look-ahead schedule, weekly schedule, and monthly schedule. Isolate any adverse trends and warn the PM on time to take corrective actions
  • Assist the Project Control Manager in the preparation of the Project Status Report
  • Participate in coordination meetings (internally or with the Client as appropriate)

Qualifications:

  • Degree qualified, preferably in engineering
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Previous experience working on Oil and Gas projects
  • Past experience of EPCI projects, with a strong emphasis on offshore vessel planning
  • Expert user of Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project

Working hours: 5 days per week - 2 days per week remote working is possible.
