This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Flow Assurance Engineer with strong OLGA transient simulation experience to work as part of small, multi-disciplinary project teams on technically challenging studies.
The successful candidate will be joining a technically focused consultancy environment where engineers work on challenging front-end projects across the energy sector.
The role offers the opportunity to work within small project teams, develop your technical and leadership skills, and gain exposure to a varied range of flow assurance and process engineering studies.
The Role:
As a Senior Flow Assurance Engineer, you will provide technical expertise throughout the execution of flow assurance studies, developing pipeline simulation models, carrying out simulations and assessing results to identify and resolve flow assurance challenges.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Providing technical guidance and flow assurance expertise during project and study execution.
* Conducting flow assurance studies using industry-standard software, particularly OLGA, as well as PIPESIM, PIPENET or similar.
* Developing pipeline simulation models and performing steady-state and transient analyses.
* Assessing simulation results and developing appropriate mitigation solutions.
* Carrying out pipeline sizing and thermo-hydraulic studies.
* Performing transient analyses covering shutdown, blowdown, start-up, ramp-up and turndown scenarios.
* Undertaking pipeline overpressure protection and surge pressure studies.
* Assessing flow assurance issues including slugging, hydrates, wax, erosion and corrosion.
* Preparing design calculations, technical reports, flow assurance strategies, philosophies and procedures.
* Working closely with other engineering disciplines within project teams.
* Liaising directly with clients, including presenting technical findings and discussing project issues.
* Guiding and supervising junior engineers where required.
Requirements:
The successful candidate will have:
* A strong background in Flow Assurance Engineering
* Minimum 6 years' hands-on experience using OLGA for transient flow assurance modelling.
* Experience analysing single and multiphase pipelines using steady-state and transient hydraulic analysis.
* Experience with industry-standard software such as OLGA, PIPESIM and/or PIPENET.
* Strong understanding of flow assurance issues including slugging, hydrates, wax, erosion and corrosion, together with mitigation methods.
* Experience in pipeline sizing and thermo-hydraulic studies.
* Experience undertaking transient analysis for shutdown, blowdown, start-up, ramp-up and turndown scenarios.
* Experience with pipeline overpressure protection and surge pressure analysis.
* Good understanding of thermodynamics.
* Excellent technical report writing and presentation skills.
* The ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a multi-disciplinary project team.
* Experience presenting technical information to clients.
* Knowledge of relevant engineering regulations, codes and standards.
Desirable Experience:
